Some locations may not contain a naturally-occurring ambient particle concentration for fit testing with the PORTACOUNT® Respirator Fit Tester. This is often due to high-efficiency filters found in some specialized building ventilation systems. The particle generator produces a non-detectable, low concentration salt (NaCl) aerosol in the proper size range for the PORTACOUNT or N95-Companion™. Since the aerosol output of the particle generator is limited, its use restricts fit testing activities to an average-size room.
